Reminder on Reporting Time for ASTC 2016

Dear Sec 2s and 3s,

as you already know, ASTC 2016 will be held from 14th to 16th October 2016.

Just a gentle reminder that your reporting time on 14th October is 2.30pm for all of you, including Muslim boys. Transport will not be provided so you have to make your way there on your own. Also, we advise that you pack your bags prior to the date because you may not have time to pack your bags after your examinations on that day. Report in your PT Kit with PE shirt as the top.

Reporting venue is Changi Point Ferry Terminal. If you are not sure how to get there, please approach your Squad CI.

Promotion Standards (Tent Pitching)

Dear Sec 1 Cadets,

Please see the following photos for the Tent Pitching standards, which will help you to pass the LCpl Promotion Test in October.

1. Corner Peg Positions

"L-shape" for inner sheet corner peg, and 1 peg's length parallel outwards (to your right in the photo) for outer sheet corner peg.


2. Wall Guyline/ Center Peg Positions

One peg's length outwards from the base of standing wall flap for the inner sheet, and another 1 peg's length parallel outwards for the outer sheet center peg.

Preparation for Promotion (Oct 2016)

Dear Unit,

All cadets are strongly encouraged to revise for your upcoming promotion tests in October 2016;
1. Promotion to Lance Corporal (LCpl)
2. Promotion to Staff Sergeant (SSgt)

If you are unsure if you can sit for the above mentioned promotion tests, or the skills to be tested, please check the Promotion Guidelines pinned on the notice board. All necessary knowledge has been put up on the Blog under Training Resource.

There are 2 more Friday Training sessions left, before the promotion tests. Hence, cadets are to clarify any NPCC knowledge with their Cadet Leaders/ CIs/ Officers during these 2 sessions.

Here is an overview of the dates:

*9 Sept - Extra Training for Sec 1s to complete Tent Pitching under 1 hour.
16 Sept - Friday Training
23 Sept - Friday Training
21 Oct - Promotion Day (Part 1)
28 Oct - Promotion Day (Part 2)
