Dry Shoot on 06/07/15 and Practice Shoot on 09/07/15

Before the dry shoot, we felt very excited about it but anxious at the same time. Because we thought the dry shoot practice allows us to shoot a airsoft gun, or at least let us fire blank rounds. The thing that makes us 'sian' is the fact that there is no transportation available, to and fro.

During the event,we felt that the lecture about shooting and handling of the gun is very boring, but fun. The part that makes it boring is the fact that the slides feel like a repeat of the one that the instructor taught us during the lecture using the air pistol in school. We felt that the gun that we use during the dry shoot is very hard to handle, especially the thumb piece used to release the drum, or canister.

During the practice shoot, we felt very nervous when standing outside the firing range. The gun sounds were loud and scary. We feel nervous during the firing of the gun, because it was our first time handling something that is meant to kill. The recoil of the gun is manageable for us, although it might be hard for other people. We also felt that the bus trip is very long.

3rd Class Drill Badge Re-test & CPL Lashing Test

Dear Sec 2s,

You will be undergoing for a re-test for your 3rd Class Drill Badge.

Please ensure that your uniform is in tip-top condition and ensure that you memorize the commands as you will be required to command your own squad so that I can determine if you deserve the badge. Please remember that this is your FINAL re-test. If you deem to not pass the test, you will have to take the test with your Sec 1 juniors.

Improper attire or attire not up to standard will be a straight FAIL.

You will be tested on,

1. Your WOC
2. Statics
3. Turnings
4. Marching

Things that can make you fail easily
1. Unnecessary movement in a squad
2. Fists not clenched

You will also be undergoing for a Lashing Test.

This test will be the final component for you to get the rank of Corporal. (For those who are currently in the rank of CDT, you will be receiving your rank of Lance Corporal instead if you pass the test. You will need to hold this rank for a minimum of 4 months before I can allow you to be promoted to the next rank)

I will be giving last minute revision after your 3rd Class Drill badge test. So ensure you do not take too much time in your drill test so you will have more time to have a little more time on hands-on for lashings.

Please ensure that you are well-prepared for both tests as they will determine whether will you be promoted to the next rank.

Regards,
CI (NPCC) Lukas Heng
