Promotion Results

dear unit (especially the sec 1s),

congratulations to all who are promoted to the next rank, be it lance corporal, corporal or sergeant. i believe your determination to get to the next rank, and the effort you put in has paid off. you deserve what you have earned and i hereby applaud you for that.

for those who did not manage to get promoted, or is given a probationary status to your rank, do not feel uneasy about it. undoubtedly you may feel inferior in some ways as compared to your squad mates, but bear in mind that you have learnt the same amount of skills as your friends, hence you are on par with them and not of a lower standard. promotion test itself is just an immediate gauge of how good you exhibit the skills you are taught on that particular day. you may have shown consistency in your weekly trainings, but fail to perform on the day of promotion. deep inside your heart you know that you can do it, so do not feel disappointed that you performed poorer than expected.

i wish you well in your studies and future journey in npcc.

Promotion Test 2011

Dear cadets,

I would like to make this clear that should you fail to attend this year's Promotion Test in September, you will not be able to be promoted until the next promotion test in March 2012.

NPCC policy is that all cadets must be in their current rank for a minimum of 6 months before they are promoted to the next rank. This is especially important for the Sec 3 cadets who should aim to obtain a rank of Staff Sergent. Should any Sec 3 cadets not attend this round of promotion test, you will most likely graduate with a maximum rank of Sergent if you pass the promotion test in 2012.

If you have any problems with attending the promotion test, advance notice must be given to me and not showing up tomorrow without informing me will result in you failing your Promotion Test for this year.

I hope that this is clear to all cadets. Should your parents require clarification, refer them to this blog post or they can call me and I will personally explain the situation to them.

Annual Promotion Test

To all cadets,

There will be a promotion test for all levels. Your presence is a must. Those who fail to attend without valid reason will get punished.

This is a full day event. tests are expected to end by 5pm. please get your uniform done before 10 sept as marks will be deducted for any mistake on that day. If u have any enquiry about this promotion, do consult your NCOs before consult any CI. As for the promotion criteria, ask zao chuan for it. Thanks .

sec 3 promotion test postpone

To all sec 3,

SGT TEST WILL BE POSTPONED as many of them have extra class till 4pm. there no use for me to carry on with such little manpower. Anyway concentrate on your studies during this time.

The next sgt test will be held on sept holiday where u all need to come down to take the test.

dear sec 1s,

you may go to the unit forum to check out the standards for all npcc attires. if you have any problem with your uniform, please sound off to miss chew, or any of the teacher officer as soon as possible.

the unit forum can be accessed at damainpcc.proboards.com

on the home page, click on the icon 'unit events and information', then 'npcc attire standards'. the information there serves as a guideline for you to follow.

for the female cadets, please seek help from your seniors in the weaving of your bootlaces. when completed, only 3 or 4 (depending on your boots type) horizontal lines and 1 slant line (left to right, or right to left) connecting from the top-most horizontal line to the bottom-most line should be seen.

lastly, practice on your own at home, the drill movements that you have learnt today. i'm expecting all of you to earn the lance corporal rank. the amount of effort you put in to practice, is equal to the chance of you getting promoted.
